I have a 10-month old chocolate lab. She is very adventurous and loves to swim and retreive sticks in the water. The other day she was playing in a pond and sliced the pad on her paw. We aren’t sure what she cut herself with but she ended up with a doozy of a cut. She’s pretty darn tough and we didn’t notice that she was bleeding on the walk home.

After the walk, she was laying on the carpet enthralled in chewing a rawhide. While she was eating her treat she drug her foot across the carpet and that is when we noticed the blood. She created a nice big smear of blood on our living room carpet! And, to make matters worse, it wasn’t just in one place. It was starting to look like a small crime scene.

I have used stain removers on my carpet before and so far nothing worked that great. I had just made the Thieves Cleaner at a “make and take” a week or so before and thought I’d give it a try. Holy smokes! That stuff was a miracle. All the blood came out right away. I just sprayed the area and rubbed with a paper towel. The blood was gone instantly. I was so impressed. I am never going to buy stain remover from a store again.

Here’s the recipe:

Thieves Cleaner

In a 500ml glass bottle mix:

1. 10 drops Thieves essential oil
2. 5 drops Lemon essential oil (it helps cut the grease)
3. Fill bottle half with hydrogen peroxide
4. Fill remainder with water

Shake before using and spray on everything!

I use it on mirrors and don’t get any streaks. I use it on countertops in the kitchen and bathroom. I have removed all of the grease on my hood vent using it. And, of course, used it on carpet to get rid of blood.

I am going to keep a bottle of Thieves Cleaner ready at all times because, you know, I have a 10-month old puppy.
