This is an embarrassing post in that I am showing you a pretty disgusting part of my kitchen. Today, I tackled the moldy dish dryer that sits on our counter. It was pretty gnarly. I got Thieves Household cleaner the other day and I wanted to see just how well it worked. My mission: to get rid of the grime on dish rack. Yuck!
If you look closely, you can see the black mold and the orange-pinkish goop that is on the dryer. Actually, you don’t have to look close. Disgusting!
I whipped up a 500ml glass bottle of Thieves Cleaner using:
- a capful of Thieves Household cleaner
- five drops of lemon essential oil
- filled up half the bottle with hydrogen peroxide
- fill up the remaining half with water
That’s it. I sprayed the whole dish rack and watched as the concoction bubble a bit. I knew it was working. I let it sit for a bit while I went and cleaned the bathroom with the Thieves Cleaner. You should see the mirror! It is sparkling and the faucets are shiny.
Then, when I figured the dish rack was ready to be cleaned I just used a couple of paper towels and cleaned the rack. The dirt, mold and whatever else was on there came off easily and quickly. I ended up using one of those green scrubby sponges because it was easier to get in the nooks and crannies of the dryer with it. That’s it. This is how it looked:
Pretty darn good! That thing is about 10 years old and it looks nearly new now. I am impressed.
After using it, I recommend Thieves Cleaner for pretty much everything in your house. I have used the essential oil to make the cleaner and the concentrate. Either one works great. I purchased the bottle of the concentrate because I feel like it goes farther than if I was to just put the oil in the cleaner. The more I use it, the more I love it. Today I spent a couple of hours figuring out what else I could use it on. I tackled some stubborn grease on the coffee cleaner that sits next to the stove. It removed the grease pretty easily. The coffee machine was tacky to the touch and now it is smooth and shiny.
Try the Thieves Cleaner out for yourself. I bet you’ll love it. You can place an order from my About page. If you have any questions, please shoot me a message from the contact page.
